Ride To Eat data for your GPS and Mapping software

Available in several formats for your convenience. Site data was last updated 30-Aug-2010.

These files are provided free for the private, non-commercial use of anyone who would like them. While the data such as restaurant names and addresses is public information, all rights to original content from RideToEat.com (ratings, comments, files, artwork) are reserved and that content may not be published elsewhere without my explicit written permission.

Exception: businesses listed here are freely welcome to republish their listing or review (with attribution). They also may provide links to their RideToEat.com listing, with the understanding that new reviews are added frequently and may or may not be positive.

Always Current – These formats are automatically updated every time data on the website changes:

Relatively current – These formats are updated frequently:

  • POI (Points of Interest) file in both CSV and GPX formats. [updated 8/19/2010] While you’re there, you may want to poke around – poi-factory.com is a GREAT site for POI data, especially for Red Light Camera and Speed Camera data.

Current? Not so much – These formats are updated sporadically. If you need one freshened, drop me a note:

RideToEat.com data is also included in a Streets and Trips v2010 “mega” POI File at LaptopGPSWorld.com file maintained by THE Microsoft Streets & Trips team (how cool is that?). They update it monthly, usually the first week of the month.

"Roads exist for me . . . mainly to furnish reasonably direct connections between cafes and chili parlors, taco wagons and beaneries, eat shacks and confectioneries, burger joints and frozen-custard stands, barbecue sheds and fish camps. In other words, roads are there to tie one reason for living to another."
