Welcome!

This is designed to be a list of Ride To Eat (RTE) destinations for riders, mostly for North America.

Whether it’s the best BBQ, burger, pie, steak, seafood, or just the best twisty roads to get there, this is your ultimate source to find a place to Ride To Eat.

Built-in links to Google Maps for every entry.

What makes a place a “Ride To Eat” destination?

Heh – that’s a tough one.

It is not just about how good the food is. Heck, even a mediocre restaurant might still be a good place to RTE. As many of us have learned from Robert Persig, quality is sometimes an elusive, slippery notion.

But you know it when you see it.

A good RTE destination has something unique or wonderful about the combination of food, the location, the roads nearby, the ambiance, or SOMETHING that makes it a great place to plan a ride around. It’s not a place you happen stop at while on a ride, it’s the place that got you on the bike to start with.

Why don’t I see any bad reviews?

Because this isn’t a restaurant review site. It’s a list of GOOD places for a Ride To Eat journey.
If we get credible bad feedback on a place and become convinced it’s probably not a good RTE spot, we don’t change their rating, we remove them from the site.

"Roads exist for me . . . mainly to furnish reasonably direct connections between cafes and chili parlors, taco wagons and beaneries, eat shacks and confectioneries, burger joints and frozen-custard stands, barbecue sheds and fish camps. In other words, roads are there to tie one reason for living to another."
